We’re all big fans of The Apprentice at Bayfield. I have even taught Financial Modelling to a past winner, giving me a sense of a small personal stake in the TV show. However in the last few weeks we’ve found something even better to watch! Our very own interns, Patricia Rus and Seung Jun Oh (SJ), have just won the European regional heat of the 2017 Cornell International Real Estate Case competition. Patricia and SJ are part of a six strong team made up of Tripos students from Land Economy at the University of Cambridge.
On the 7th October the team came back from the competition held at the Four Seasons Park Lane hotel in London having beat the University of Reading, the University of Aberdeen and the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology. The task required them to analyse an actual commercial real estate transaction, make a recommendation and present it coherently as a group to the panel. Patricia and SJ already had Bayfield Training at the edge of their seats, earlier in the year, having watched them win the recent student case competition organised by CUREFIS (the Cambridge University Real Estate Finance & Investment Society)
Now the team is off to New York and competing for a sweet $20,000. They will appear in front of a panel of the biggest real estate magnates in the US and compete against teams representing six countries. Fingers crossed on the 14th November, team Cambridge, as far as we’re concerned you’re hired!
